We have designed a weekend traveling to PÉCS in Western Hungary, European City of Culture in 2010, and a city inhabited by the Romans, Huns, Magyars and Ottomans. It was very wealthy in the 19th century due to the Zsolnay ceramic factory, which we will visit alongside the many museums. Visits include the site of the Battle of Mohács, a seminal victory for Islam in Europe in the early 16th century. The tour departs from Budapest, taking in Veszprém and the Festetics Palace on Lake Balaton on the way down, and the Baroque town of Kalosca, and Kecskemét on the return.

However we are always happy to do beautiful BUDAPEST, where we like to base ourselves at the eclectic Brody House hotel.
